WELCOME TO JIREH COMMUNITY PROJECTS

We are a registered N.G.O. - Non Governmental Organisation founded in October 1989. Jireh is based in Portlands, Mitchell's Plain 25 Kilometres from the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa. Mitchells' Plain is a sprawling township built for people of colour with a population of approximately 1.5 million people, comprising of about 40 suburbs. Over the two decades Jireh has trained thousands of unemployed people ranging from 16 years to 60 years of age in the field of computer literacy skills, sewing; garment and curtain making as well as job-creation skills.

Our Mission as Jireh Community Projects serves to empower and uplift poor communities to experience social, political and economic freedom through programmes of education, early childhood development, arts and culture, youth development, family support structures and together with organisations with similar aims we want to help create a society in which everyone can realise their aspirations and reach their full potential, regardless of the life into which they were born or the circumstances they find themselves in.

As an ngo in the current climate we understand the significance in being current and addressing the pressing needs of our country and government. Our organization uses creativity, dynamism and commitment that is needed in every effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
